Should I Recover My Bible?

The restoring process is one which requires top quality materials and skillful labor. If your bible is one that is special, and you wish to preserve its usefulness because of the time you have put into it or the uniqueness of it, then consider us. If you are looking to save money on a bible that is just worn out and has no special significance, buy a new bible from your Christian Book Store. The restorative process is one in which we infuse new life into a bible that has special meaning. The whole process takes about a week, depending on our work load and at this time, the cost should run between $135 and $185. This is not a cheap way to extend the life of a bible which has little sentimental value. If you have a special bible that deserves a new cover, please read on…. Upon receiving your bible, we will carefully remove the old cover to inspect the condition of the binding and then reinforce and re-glue your binding, rejuvenating it to give it a new life. A new ribbon marker or markers of your choice will be installed along with new end bands and end pages before attaching the leather.
Your new bible cover is hand crafted from a specially selected piece of tanned, soft, flexible, genuine calfskin leather (not bonded leather) and is then cut and dyed specifically for your application. The finish is buffed and sealed with a latex based sealer; and then conditioned with a special balm, and buffed again. In that no lacquers or “clear coats” are applied, care should be taken as follows: Do not leave your bible in the car where it can be exposed to extreme heat and cold. Your bible is made of genuine leather and not bonded leather so it will respond well to the natural oils of your hands but not sunlight or water. Your bible should not need any conditioners if it is used on a regular basis. Many conditioners will actually do more harm than good so please avoid using them. Thanks again; and I hope I have the opportunity to meet you and re-cover your special bible. Contact me at: 770-351-8080 or
